# Americord To Help Gulf Coast Recovery Efforts After Tropical Storm Harvey

NEW YORK, NY (August 30, 2017): Americord, the fastest growing cord blood bank in the country, and a leader in the advancement of umbilical cord blood, cord tissue, and [placental tissue banking](https://www.americordblood.com/placental-tissue/), has committed to helping the thousands of people whose lives have been devastated by Tropical Storm Harvey.

As part of our commitment to families and community, Americord will donate $50 to the [American Red Cross](https://www.redcross.org/) for every client who banks umbilical cord blood, cord tissue, or placental tissue with us throughout the month of September.
