Government Supports Cord Blood Banking

The New York State Senate has reintroduced a bill to create a public umbilical cord blood banking program within the New York State Department of Health aiming to promote public awareness of the potential benefits of banking cord blood. With over 80 rare blood diseases now treated using umbilical cord blood many state governments, as well as the US federal government are supporting cord blood banking efforts. Research continues to increase and with it the horizon for cord blood stem cell uses continues to look brighter. Check out our recent press release about government support for cord blood here.
