History and Mission
Americord was founded in 2008 with a commitment to helping our customers and their children live healthier, longer lives. We set out to pioneer the development of new cord blood and tissue banking technologies and innovations to better achieve these goals and serve our customers.
This dedication to innovation under the leadership of Executive Medical Director Dr. Robert Dracker led to Cord Blood 2.0®, our proprietary process for cord blood collection that allows us to collect up to twice as many stem cells as a traditional cord blood collection method.
We were also one of the first companies in the world to offer cord tissue and placental tissue banking. In 2011 we debuted our cord tissue collection offerings and the following year we began banking placental tissue and continue to be a pioneer in this space.
Americord’s commitment to innovation is never complete. We continuously research ways to improve our collection, processing, and banking procedures. We often partner with institutions nation-wide and around the globe to advance not only the technology that makes our service possible but also the R&D that will make the regenerative medicine more viable in the future.
Most importantly, we are in constant contact with our growing family—our clients—regarding innovations we make.
