How long does it take to get a cord blood kit?

Posted by Martin Smithmyer

I enrolled today, when will I receive my cord blood kit? This is a common question among expectant parents who have enrolled in private cord blood banking.

What If I Go Into Labor Before I Receive My Cord Blood Kit?

Generally we will send you the cord blood kit via FedEx or UPS and so you should have it within a few days after you enroll. If you start do go into labor after enrolling but you have not received your kit, we will send a courier with a kit to you at your hospital. Admittedly we have the best response times in the New York and surrounding areas as we have someone bring the kit to you, but just call us at 866-503-6005 if you need one and it is last minute. Chances are we can get one to you or have one at the hospital where you are delivering.

Of course, it is simply much better to have the kit with you well in advance of the birth, since you never know when you are going to go into labor. More than 50% of babies come early. We get calls all of the time from people wanting to enroll and then find out later that they had the baby the next day. It doesn’t cost anything to have a kit sent to you – we only bill you after the baby comes. So call us at 866-503-6005 and get your kit today.
