When Marty Smithmyer, Founder of Americord, embarked on this journey in 2008 inspired by a deeply personal experience – the preservation of his own daughter's cord blood stem cells. Recognizing a critical gap in the field, he has wholeheartedly dedicated his life and career to revolutionizing cord blood banking for families nationwide. With a foundation built on a personal journey, Marty has nurtured Americord into a family bank from the start.
